Saluting the Sitter

I'd been meaning to write a glowing review of our former babysitter for months, so here it is. Katie is a great girl who babysat for us since she was a freshman at ASU, and now she's moved away after the fall semester to student teach and we miss her! The kids love her and still talk about her, and while there is another lovely girl sitting for us currently (who will also graduate this May - ACK!), Katie is embedded as the favorite in their little hearts. Here are pics from the last night she came to play in December and we exchanged Christmas gifts and Mary-Chandler wrote her a little letter that said "You will be a great teacher!"~

If India were populated by Plush...

Here's part of the population of Mary-Chandler's bed, when they're relocated to the floor for Clean Sheet Day.
They appear to grow daily, and there's hardly any room for MC in the bed. But remove one of them and boy, she knows it.

Circle Time

Here's some light afternoon reading for Christopher and friends~

Pint-Sized Music

Kent returned from Ecuador with killer mini instruments for the kids. Happily, there were only about 2 days of complete cacophony. Now, it's just intermittent.

Word of the Day: cacophony, ca·coph·o·ny: Jarring, discordant sound; dissonance

Feeding the Beast

Single People: You know that list you keep in your head of "Things I'll never do with MY child" ?
Well, throw it out, because I'm telling you: you'll cave on most of them. They're just not hills to die on. I was never going to do TV-character-themed birthday parties, etc. Hahahaha! We are big fat Blue's Clues fans and a Live! show actually came to Boone. My parents ponied up the big bucks for the whole family to go. Blue's Clues is a great preschool TV show, and the live production was really well done. We all enjoyed it.
